Alcoa School Board approves revised director search policy, advances stricter background checks

The Alcoa School Board approved a modified version of changes to its director of schools search policy that would allow private candidate interviews, this time preserving the option to interview finalists publicly. The board unanimously approved the policy on second reading during its Tuesday, Sept. 15 meeting at the Alcoa High School.

The board also advanced two policies requiring more frequent background checks for school volunteers, chaperones and outside personnel.
