KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – While walking around Zoo Knoxville, there’s a chance you could see a porcupine going on one of her walks.
Wild Ambassadors keeper Carrie Owenby spoke to WVLT about the prickliest resident of Zoo Knoxville.
“So, this is Pedzi. She is our African cape porcupine here at the zoo. She will be 16 years old this year. So typically, a lifespan for these guys is anywhere from 15 to early 20s,” said Owenby. “She is an ambassador here at the zoo. She does live off exhibit, but she likes to go for walks on little walkabouts around the zoo. Her favorite thing to do is to do the Great Apes Loop, where she walks around, gets to meet all the people, and likes to go and visit the chimps. Stevie is one of her favorites.”…
