KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Because of the national outage impacting the education platform Canvas, the University of Tennessee has moved final exams originally scheduled for Friday to Saturday.
Provost John Zomchick announced that while the online hub for instructional materials and coursework was back up Friday, all finals that were scheduled to take place on Friday, May 8 would be moved to the same time on Saturday, May 9.
Knox County Schools alerts parents of ‘cybersecurity incident’
The University of Tennessee was one of many educational institutions nationwide impacted by a cybersecurity incident targeting Instructure, which is the parent company of Canvas, the Office of the Provost explained in a release Thursday.
The university’s Office of Innovative Technologies was informed by Instructure that a data breach was associated with some accounts, and the data involved appeared to be personal information.
