KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Warmer temperatures mean more drivers are on the road and more animals are on the move.

State Farm estimates there were about 1.7 million animal crash insurance claims nationwide between July 2024 and June 2025. Deer were the animal most often involved, including in Tennessee, according to the insurer’s data.
