MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – The line stretched around the Dairy Queen on West Broadway in Maryville as Savannah Bananas fans from near and far traveled to meet their favorite team.
“We drove for a six-hour round trip,” said Diedre Wynn, who brought her grandson Keenan to the signing. “We’re from Harlan County, Kentucky.”
Wynn arrived at the Dairy Queen at 9:30 a.m. and would spend a full workday in East Tennessee waiting for the Savannah Bananas to arrive. Others have been waiting since they got their Savannah Banana tickets on Christmas.
