Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office disputes online report of ICE arrest

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office has taken issue with a report of an arrest by ICE agents in an online news source.

A report posted May 23 by The Lens alleged the involvement of LPSO deputies in the arrest of the unidentified woman included their accusing the woman’s produced identification of being fake, and calling ICE agents to confirm.

According to the report, the woman was “handcuffed and shackled at the ankles. Agents interrogated her, demanding that she name the person who ‘did these fake papers for you.’”…
