LAFAYETTE, La. – There are a lot of ups and downs in running a business these days. It’s been a stretch of seemingly more lows than highs for several Acadiana businesses.
And along that note, sadly, we have some closures to report.

La Hacienda Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Cantina Closes in Broussard
The first closure comes from Broussard where longstanding La Hacienda Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Cantina, located at 809 Alberston Parkway, has closed its doors. According to a post in the Facebook group “Closed In Acadiana,” there is a sign on the entrance stating the restaurant was closed and “For Lease” signs were seen on the storefront.
While we don’t have an exact date as to when La Hacienda first opened, it has been there for several years. (I remember dining there in the mid-2000s when I lived in that area.)
I also recall the food being pretty good. The customers, for the most part, seemed to agree. 86% of customers (out of 362 reviews) recommended the restaurant on its Facebook page.
