LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — A man from the New Orleans area was sentenced to seven years in federal prison after more than four pounds of cocaine were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop on I-10 near Scott, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana.
United States District Judge David C. Joseph sentenced Jeremy Black, 52, of Harvey, to seven years in federal prison followed by four years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
According to court documents, officers initiated a traffic stop on Black’s vehicle after observing several traffic violations on I-10, including following too closely and improper lane usage.
