I-10 Ambassador Caffery Exit Back Open After Overnight Crash

The I-10 eastbound Ambassador Caffery Parkway exit in Lafayette has reopened after an overnight crash involving an overturned 18-wheeler temporarily shut down the exit ramp for several hours.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, officers were called to the scene at approximately 2:14 a.m. Thursday, August 13, after reports of a single-vehicle crash on the eastbound exit ramp at Exit 100.

Driver Reported No Injuries

Investigators say the 18-wheeler was attempting to take the Ambassador Caffery exit when, for reasons that remain unknown, the truck left the roadway to the left and overturned.

The driver told officers they were not injured in the crash.

Exit Closed For Recovery Effort
