ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. (KLFY)- St. Martin Parish is expanding access to its waterways to boost outdoor recreation and tourism, thanks to new funding from the Atchafalaya Wild Grant program.
The Atchafalaya National Heritage Area recently announced funding for six projects across its 15-parish region, including one in St. Martin Parish focused on increasing paddling access.
Billy Nungesser unveiled the grant recipients as part of the heritage area’s 20th anniversary celebration. The program, supported by the National Park Service, awarded nearly $70,000 to projects aimed at conservation and outdoor recreation as part of Louisiana’s “Year of Outdoors.”…
