Lafayette Spay Clinic Damaged After Being Hit By Vehicle

A local nonprofit that plays a critical role in controlling pet overpopulation is now facing an unexpected setback after a vehicle crashed into its building.

Spaynation, a low-cost spay and neuter clinic located off Bertrand Drive in Lafayette, confirmed that a client accidentally drove into part of the facility, damaging a section of its surgical area.

Thankfully, no people or animals were injured in the incident.

Damage Forces Temporary Shutdown Of Services

The impact has forced the clinic to temporarily halt normal operations, including scheduled surgeries and routine appointments.

That means delays not only for pet owners, but also for stray and community cats that rely on the organization for essential care. The disruption is also affecting foster animals connected to the Wildcat Foundation, which operates alongside the clinic.

Clinic leaders say repairs cannot begin immediately, as they are working with Lafayette Consolidated Government to get proper approvals before moving forward.
