TAMPA, Fla. – Residents across the Tampa Bay area are looking at a week defined by oppressive heat indexes climbing as high as 106 degrees and persistent daily chances for showers and thunderstorms, according to the latest forecast.
The week kicks off Monday with showers and storms likely, mainly before the noon hour, alongside a partly sunny sky and a high near 92 degrees. Forecasters note that heat index values could reach 104, accompanied by a west wind blowing at 7 to 10 mph and a 60 percent chance of precipitation.
