WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA)— An ex-police officer who was executed in Florida on Tuesday was connected to the death of a missing Polk County teen in 1987, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd announced.
James Duckett was executed on Tuesday after he was convicted and sentenced to death for the rape and murder of 11-year-old Tereasa McAbee in 1987.
Duckett was a former Mascotte police officer who had been on death row since 1988.
