POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A routine stop at an Auburndale gas station ended in a multi-unit takedown late Monday night after detectives spotted a stolen vehicle from Kansas, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 9:57 p.m., a detective identified a stolen Kia parked outside the Love’s Truck Stop at 1800 State Road 559. The detective monitored the car discreetly from a distance while coordinating incoming backup over the radio.
Patrol deputies, K-9 teams, and aviation units quickly converged on the lot. Once in position, law enforcement vehicles boxed in the Kia to prevent any attempt to flee. Deputies then made contact with the driver, who surrendered without incident…
