Berks County leaders say proposed ICE detention center is no longer moving forward

READING, Pa. — After months of concern by some in Upper Bern Township, Berks County leaders say the proposed ICE detention center at a warehouse on Mountain Road is no longer moving forward.

“We found out that it is in fact not going to open as an ICE facility. I’m ecstatic about that,” said Berks County Commissioner Dante Santoni Jr.
