LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The Lancaster County Coroner confirmed Friday that the second infant who died with measles did die from the disease.
The girl, who was six weeks old, was born with “Amish lethal microcephaly,” which Lancaster County Coroner Stephen Diamantoni said made the child extremely susceptible to respiratory diseases, including measles. Diamantoni described it as an “exceedingly rare” genetic condition.
