LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A high-speed chase throughout Lancaster County this week ended in nearly two dozen charges being filed against the driver, whose bail was denied, according to court documents.
Pennsylvania State Police filed 22 charges against Samuel Merrill-Hoffman, 21, of Reading, including felony counts of fleeing or attempting to elude officers and evading arrest or detention on foot, court records show.
Police in Reading were pursuing Merrill-Hoffman, who was driving a 2008 silver Infiniti G3 and was headed into Lancaster County around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to an affidavit of probable cause. A Trooper positioned on US 222 in East Cocalico Township was able to take the lead in the chase.
