abc27 Exclusive: Northern York County detective recounts fatal ambush

(WHTM) – On Sept. 17, 2025, six officers were called to serve a warrant in North Codorus Township, York County, searching for a stalking suspect near Spring Grove.

Three of the officers were killed. Two of them were critically injured. And then there was the sixth officer, who remembers that day – the ambush and the aftermath – in heartbreaking detail.

Northern York County Regional Police Detective Jack Asper reached out to abc27, finally ready to tell his story publicly for the first time.

The six officers who responded to the home on Haar Road knew the suspect was potentially dangerous, but nothing could have prepared them for the ambush they could encounter…
