If you live in a residential dorm hall at Michigan State University, odds are you are familiar with the dining halls peppered all over campus. There are seven all-you-can-eat dining halls at the university, as well as a multitude of other options included in every dining plan. Regardless of which dining hall you go to, you’ll find something unique at the desserts station especially.
This poses some questions: Is there a champion? Does one dining hall reign supreme in the sweets category? That is what I set out to answer this week, by eating a single dessert from every hall.
Seventh place: The Gallery at Snyder/Phillips Hall – Honeybun Coffee Cake
This dish was sweet and fluffy, with a nutty filling. For my first time trying coffee cake, I was satiated with this! It was the least memorable or extraordinary dish of the list. I usually find honeybuns to be too sweet, but I felt the coffee cake balanced out the sweetness enough for it to not be too overwhelming. Overall, a 6.5 out of 10 for The Gallery…
