LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)— Kanyu is a 2-year-old cat who is going through a lot of change and is feeling pretty overwhelmed by shelter life right now. He came to us with several other cats after they were left in the care of someone who was allergic to them.
Kanyu and the other cats had previously been found outdoors and brought inside, and while they have done well living indoors, they may still be accustomed to having outdoor access. Kanyu is friendly and can be handled, but right now he is very scared and tends to shut down. His new family should be prepared to give him plenty of time, patience, and a quiet space to decompress.
He may spend his first days or even weeks hiding while he learns that his new home is safe. We don’t know yet what his full personality will look like once he feels secure, but we’d love to see him get the chance to discover it outside of the shelter. Kanyu is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped…
