CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WILX) – The Charlotte Fire Department responded to a garage fire Saturday night in Chester Township.
Crews were dispatched around 11:45 p.m. to reports of a garage fire attached to a home, with flames visible upon arrival. Firefighters confirmed no one was inside the residence.
The department said the garage was fully involved when crews arrived. Within about five minutes, firefighters brought the blaze under control and contained it, preventing it from spreading into the main living area.
Additional units and mutual aid from nearby departments assisted with extinguishment, salvage and overhaul operations.
Two cats were rescued from the home. No injuries were reported…
