Southwest Gas employees pack care kits for unhoused residents

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Southwest Gas employees spent the day packing care packages to help unhoused people get through the summer heat.

The event at Southwest Gas marked the 60th anniversary of the company’s foundation and its “Month of Giving.” About 140 employees and family members worked together to assemble 2,000 outreach kits for Help of Southern Nevada.

Each drawstring backpack includes nonperishable food, electrolyte packets and sun-protection items like aloe, lip balm and sunscreen…
