LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The son of Clark County Commissioner William McCurdy II reached a plea deal on Thursday after his indictment on criminal charges of robbery, battery and conspiracy with gang enhancements.
William McCurdy III has agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and serve three years probation with a suspended prison sentence of 2-6 years. He has agreed to pay restitution in the case, which involved two others named in the indictment as members of the “Spazzout” gang. If McCurdy fails to fulfill commitments outlined in the plea deal, the state can pursue a harsher sentence.

The charge he has agreed to — conspiracy to commit robbery — does not carry a gang enhancement, and a judge could disregard the plea agreement at the time of sentencing. The crime normally carries a sentence of 1-6 years.
