LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The newest Nevada report card showed schools across both the state and Clark County have shown improvements in some areas, but there is still work to be done to reach the goals set by a new statewide plan.
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Nevada Department of Education released its annual student achievement and school performance results, showing most students in the state are not performing at grade level.

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Victor Wakefield said the most important takeaway from the data was that a majority of Nevada students weren’t meeting grade-level expectations.
“After recent gains, these results are a clear reminder of both the progress Nevada has made and the work still ahead,” Superintendent Wakefield said. “The ambitious goals in our newstatewide strategic plan reflect the outcomes Nevada students need to thrive in school andbeyond. Now, our focus must be on translating that plan into action and ensuring every Nevadastudent has the strong academic foundations that deeper learning depends on.”…
