Lexington restaurant reopens after Monday flash flooding, owner watching weekend forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Flash flooding hit Lexington earlier this week, forcing at least one local business to temporarily close.

Minton’s, a restaurant that opened in February 2025, was among the businesses affected when floodwaters entered the building Monday. The owner, Ashley Minton, said she learned about the flooding after receiving a photo via text message.

“So I got a text from someone of a picture of everything underwater and was immediately trying to figure out if we were underwater,” Minton said.
