A Kentucky couple was arrested and charged with child abuse after an 8-year-old girl covered in bruises allegedly knocked on a stranger’s door seeking help.
Austin and Kayla Frazier, ages 27 and 31, respectively, were arrested by Ashland police and charged with first degree criminal abuse to a child 12 or under, according to online records from the Boyd County Detention Center.
An arrest citation reviewed by WSAZ alleges a woman found the young girl knocking on her door Thursday evening.
The unidentified woman allowed the girl inside and called 911, the station reported.
When the Fraziers knocked on her door, the woman did not answer, the citation states.
The girl allegedly told police she was beaten by the couple with a metal pipe. She also said the pair held her hand to a hot stove and threw something that hit her in the head, WSAZ rpeorted.
The girl was brought by ambulance to a hospital, where doctors said the child was suffering from several broken bones that were in various stages of healing, according to the news station.
