All-expense-paid trip gives Kentucky trooper shot in the line of duty time to heal with family

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Months after a traffic stop turned into an officer-involved shooting, Kentucky State Police Trooper Jude Remilien says he’s focused on healing and moving forward.

“I’ve been doing well; I’ve been doing well. I’m back to work, full duty. January 28th, so I’m just taking it a day at a time,” said Trooper Remilien.

That mindset, taking things one day at a time, has helped carry him through the recovery process. Along the way, he says support from the community has made a lasting impact.

“It’s been incredible just seeing how people just, you know, take their time out of the day to sing in letters and prayers, just to check on how I’m doing as far as my physical and mental health.”…
