Kentucky mother embraces life after expungement, helps others get second chance

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — In recent days, Hannah Said is cherishing time with her son, a reality made possible by a second chance, but a decade ago, her life looked very different.

“I developed a substance use disorder problem, more specifically opioid use disorder, and that carried on for the majority of my life,” Hannah, manager of strategic partnerships atGoodwill Kentucky, said.

Hannah told FOX 56 addiction led her down a criminal path, including a first-degree robbery charge, but after going through drug court, she got clean, but her record was not.

“Many people would ask me, you know, why haven’t you got your record expunged? It’s been ten years. And my answer was always, ‘Well, it really isn’t bothering me anymore. I have a good job, it’s not holding me back in any way, and it’s very expensive,’” Hannah said…
