Warm and sunny today with strong storms possible tonight into tomorrow morning

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Good morning! After severe storms rolled through the area last night, we’re expecting a quieter day today. Temperatures stay warm, but with lower dew points we’re not expecting the humidity we’ve seen the last few days. Tonight into tomorrow morning scattered strong storms are expected across central and eastern Nebraska, before everything clears out tomorrow afternoon.

Today/Tonight: Isolated showers and storms from this morning will clear out leading to a beautiful afternoon. Temperatures will warm back up into the upper 80’s and low 90’s. With a cold front moving through this morning, dew points will remain cooler. This will lead to a less muggy day across the area with plenty of sunshine. Overnight a few showers look to develop across western Nebraska with a line of thunderstorms developing across central and eastern Nebraska into tomorrow morning. A few of those could become strong to severe as the Storm Prediction Center has a slight risk (level 2 of 5) in place, which includes the Tri-Cities and Lincoln. Primary threats will be large to very large hail, and damaging wind gusts.

Tomorrow: Temperatures stay cool tomorrow with highs in the 70’s, a few low 80’s to the south. Isolated showers and storms from the morning clear out leading to another sunny day Thursday. Winds will pick up anywhere from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph at times…
