LPS superintendent approved for $348,000 salary; board says the move “very good use of our tax dollars”

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Starting July 1, Lincoln Public Schools Superintendent John Skretta will receive a $15,000 pay bump to make a salary of $348,000. It is the largest salary increase a superintendent has received in the last seven years.

LPS says Skretta’s two-year contract will not have a raise in the second year.

“It’s understandable to see that people have questions about the salary,” Chair of the Board of Education for Lincoln Public Schools, Piyush Srivastav, said. “We believe any public salary should be subject to scrutiny. Our board takes this responsibility very, very seriously.”…
