LLCHD reports mosquitoes test positive for West Nile in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department reported on Thursday that mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus within the city of Lincoln, which can indicate increased transmission of the virus in the community.

No human cases of WNV have been reported in Lancaster County so far this season.

LLCHD reminds residents to protect themselves from mosquito bites over the upcoming Juneteenth and Fourth of July holiday weekends and to reduce mosquito breeding areas around the home…
