Crime Stoppers Seeks Tips on Lincoln Tool Theft, Credit Card Fraud

Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help with two separate cases involving theft and fraud. LPD’s Becky Keller says on July 3 an arborist who was working out of a garage in the area of 23rd and Sumner and reported he had his tools stolen from the garage over the weekend.

“He couldn’t find any signs of forced entry, so he believes the garage door may not have shut all the way,” Keller says. “The tools included a variety of Huskvarna chainsaws, batteries, and blowers – valued over $3,000.”

Keller says a nearby neighbor captured a vehicle of interest, an older model Chevy Tahoe or GMC Sierra, driving through the alley near the garage where the items were taken from.

On July 28th, Keller says a woman called to report a series of unauthorized charges on her credit card. “When she was going through her statements, she discovered 28 total fraudulent charges around the City of Lincoln throughout the month of July,” Keller says…
