LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Over 7,000 runners are in the streets for Sunday’s Marathon, and Half-Marathon.
Jacob Vander Plaats, a native of Sioux Center, Iowa and past Dordt Defender Athletics cross country runner, won the 2026 Lincoln Marathon Male Race finishing in 2:21:13.
Taylor Somers, an Omaha native and Millard South Alum, won the 2026 Lincoln Marathon Female Race finishing in 2:39:59. Somers is a former Oklahoma State runner, and it was her first time running the Lincoln Marathon.
The winners of the half marathon were Adam Moore of Wichita, Kan. with 1:05:04 and Rita Moore of Wichita, Kan. with 1:15:35.
