Unemployment numbers continue upward trend in northern Arkansas, southern Missouri in July

The latest unemployment numbers from the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services and the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center show unemployment continued their upward trend in north central Arkansas and southern Missouri in July when compared to the June numbers.

In Baxter County, the rate went up from 4.5% in June to 4.6% in July. Baxter County’s rate is tied for the 26th lowest out of Arkansas’ 75 counties. There are 820 unemployed Baxter County residents out of a workforce of 17,674.

Marion County’s rate increased from 6% in June to 6.3% in July, which is tied for the 6th-highest rate in the state. Marion County has 342 residents out of work from a labor force of 5,448…
