On September 2, a man from Batesville was killed in an accident on U.S. 49 in Craighead County. 56-year-old Mickey Ballard was killed when he turned into the path of another vehicle, driven by 45-year-old Michael Coffee of Clarkton, Missouri. Coffee was injured and taken to St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro.
On September 5, a man from Texas was killed in an accident in Baxter County. 74-year-old Douglas Whipple was killed when he crossed the centerline and hit another vehicle. The accident happened on State Highway 5 at Dwelle Road.
