Little Rock city leaders speak on how residents can help with crime prevention in panel

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – As crime continues to be an issue in Little Rock, city leaders gathered on Tuesday to discuss what can be done about it.

The Little Rock Rotary Club hosted a panel with city leaders to discuss ways residents can help with prevention efforts.

The panel, which included Mayor Frank Scott Jr. and Police Chief Heath Helton, stated that residents and business owners can register their security cameras with the Little Rock Police Department’s real-time crime center.

“So now we are providing our officers real information real-time so if you have an officer that is out there responding to a call-in service and we are able to provide them with more information,” Helton said. “An officer that is more informed will be able to give you a better level of service.”

Authorities noted that registering a camera does not allow them access to the video without consent.
