Warning issued for half a million people as lung-penetrating toxins fill the air: ‘Stay indoors’

Nearly half a million Americans have been warned to stay indoors and keep their windows shut as levels of airborne toxins have skyrocketed near the Gulf Coast.

Air quality monitoring stations in the South have detected a 150-mile-wide plume of polluted air hovering over parts of Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas Thursday morning.
