Fuel tanker rollover closes westbound I-70, hazmat cleanup underway

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Westbound Interstate 70 is closed near C-470 due to a crash Wednesday morning on the west side of the Denver metro area.

Just after 2 a.m., a fuel tanker rolled over on Interstate 70 at about mile marker 258, according to Foothills Fire Rescue. The fuel tanker was traveling westbound on I-70 when it went off the right side of the road and rolled onto the passenger side, according to Colorado State Patrol (CSP).

The driver of the tanker, a 27-year-old man from Denver, was able to get out of the truck on his own and reported no injuries from the crash, CSP said…
