A couple of Castle Rock residents and business owners are seeking the “quid pro quo” resignation of a town councilmember following a failure to censure the member during a recent meeting for an alleged ethics violation. The quid pro quo, said local business owner David Miles, is that the recall petition would be pulled.
The issue surrounding Councilmember Mark Davis’ conduct arose during an Aug. 18 town council meeting when Miles told the council that he received a text from the councilmember after he supposedly learned about the recall effort made toward him.
On Aug. 11, Miles and other petitioners filed recall paperwork against Davis, who represents north-central and Downtown Castle Rock (District 4), due to his approach to downtown regulation supposedly creating an uncertainty for business, property owners and responsible investment…
