Jessica Snodgrass, who is visiting Denver for the weekend from Kentucky, said she was in an Uber heading to her hotel when she heard what sounded like gunshots.

“We heard pop, pop, pop and we look over. It was right in our eyesight,” she said. “We see this car … I first thought it was maybe they were getting away or whatever, and it went over the median and into the building.”

The car had crashed through the revolving door of the skyscraper. Snodgrass said she thought she might have seen someone get out of it.

“Someone came out — I think came out of the passenger’s side and put his hands up like this — I think an older gentleman,” she said.
