UPDATE: A man died after he was struck by a vehicle on the 14 Freeway Monday night in Acton after running out of gas.
Around 11 p.m., first responders received reports of a two-vehicle crash and a body within the lanes of the southbound 14 Freeway south of Ward Road in Acton, said Officer Andre Ortiz, a spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.
CHP Newhall Area units and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and located a white Ford pickup truck and a red Tesla sedan blocking lanes.
“Initial reports indicate the driver of the pickup truck ran out of gas and stopped within the #3 lane of southbound SR-14, at Ward Road,” Ortiz said. “The driver exited and was standing behind his pickup when he and his vehicle were struck by the sedan.”…
