FBI increases award for info on deadly shooting suspect to $1 million

An award of up to $1 million is being offered for information that will lead to the arrest of an alleged gang member who federal authorities say is responsible for the 2019 murder of a man in Sylmar.

The FBI placed Omar Alexander Cardenas, 31, on its Ten Most Wanted list as it seeks the public’s help in locating him. The agency said Cardenas fatally shot Jabali Dumas, 46, on Aug. 15, 2019, at a barber shop inside a small shopping center in Sylmar.

In 2022, the FBI offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to Cardenas’ arrest; Four years later, he remains on the run and the reward increased to up to $1 million…
