LAUSD Asks State for Help to Fund New Union Contracts

The Los Angeles Unified School District is turning to state officials and asking for help to fund new union contracts that represent over 70,000 workers.

After avoiding a strike at the very last second, the acting superintendent, Andrés Chait, came to the conclusion that the district will need financial help from the state to honour agreements that were made with the three unions.
