School Admits A’Shari Hobbs Did Nothing Wrong — Then Punished Her Anyway

*The National Action Network has thrown its support behind Elvira McBride, the mother of A’Shari Hobbs, a 17-year-old senior at St. Mary’s Academy in Inglewood, California. The community organization is questioning disciplinary actions taken against the student that have reportedly barred her from prom, graduation activities, and championship track events.

According to reports and school records reviewed by media outlets, school administrators acknowledged that the punishment imposed against A’Shari was “not a result of A’Shari’s conduct.” Instead, the disciplinary action allegedly stemmed from threats made by her mother following an altercation involving students on campus.

A Press Conference Demanding Answers

The National Action Network, along with Project Islamic Hope and St. Mary’s Academy alumni, is sponsoring a press conference today, Friday, May 15 (2026), at 1:00 pm. The event will take place at St. Mary’s Academy, located at 701 Grace Avenue in Inglewood, CA.
