Lawsuit claims Uber failed to stop dangerous driver before he slammed into woman’s car in Beverly Hills

A woman who was hospitalized after an Uber driver fleeing police crashed into her in Beverly Hills is suing the rideshare company, claiming they did not properly vet their drivers.

On May 3, deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department initially contacted the suspect, Osvaldo Del Rio, around 3 a.m. near 104th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard.

During the confrontation, LASD said, “Deputies went to detain the suspect, but there was a struggle and the suspect ultimately got away and drove off, striking a deputy with their vehicle.”…
