VENICE – A judge is considering whether to dismiss an age discrimination lawsuit brought by a 70-year-old former Venice High School music teacher who says she was mocked over her age, denied technology training, and ultimately forced to resign from a job she held for decades.
The former teacher sued the Los Angeles Unified School District in October 2024, alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation and failure to prevent discrimination. She began teaching at Venice High in 1993 and resigned in 2023.
