LOS ANGELES – The county is entering a prolonged stretch of intense heat, and the nights will offer little relief.
Downtown Los Angeles reached 97 degrees Saturday, while parts of the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys rose above 100. The National Weather Service expects the heat wave to continue through at least next weekend, with temperatures peaking Tuesday through Thursday.
