A woman was struck and killed by a train while jogging across railroad tracks with a friend in Los Angeles County on Thursday morning, police said.
Officers responded to Lakeland Road near Bloomfield Avenue after receiving a report that two joggers had been hit by a train, according to Whittier Police Department spokesperson Emily Armstrong.
Responding officers found an unidentified woman on the tracks. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Armstrong said.
