LAPD officer hospitalized after being hit by car in San Fernando Valley

A Los Angeles Police Department officer was rushed to the hospital after they were hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Hubbard Street in Sylmar Friday night.

The officer was hit by a passing vehicle while he was investigating a crash near the 13500 block of Foothill Boulevard shortly before 7:48 p.m., an LAPD spokesperson told KTLA. Officials are investigating the crash as a possible hit-and-run.

The officer was taken by ambulance to a nearby trauma center in serious condition, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson told KTLA. The officer suffered multiple injuries and is now in stable condition, according to police.

Footage of the scene captured by SKY 5 showed paramedics and a fleet of LAPD vehicles responding to the crash. The officer was loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher and escorted to a local hospital by his fellow officers…
