Correctional officer worked with drug trafficker to smuggle cocaine into LA County, DA says

An officer with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and a suspected drug trafficker have been charged with smuggling cocaine into Los Angeles County, the LA County District Attorney’s office announced Friday.

Jesus Reyes, 46, is accused of driving from Mexico to a rented home in Rowland Heights and transported 20 kilograms of cocaine, the DA’s office said.

Reyes, the correctional officer, is suspected of teaming up with Jose Luis Aldahir Rocha Luque, 28, who allegedly rented the home in Rowland Heights to use it as a storage facility for the transported cocaine…
